PURPOSE: A method for controlling a fan of a combination-type receiver is provided to sense a volume control level value to operate a fan by supplying a switching on signal if the sensed value is more than a preset value, and to supply a switching off signal to stop the fan if the value is less than the preset value. CONSTITUTION: A volume level controller supplies a volume control level value to an amplifier IC(201). The amplifier IC receives an audio signal to output the signal, controls an output level of the audio signal according to the volume control level value, and supplies the volume control level value to a microcomputer(202). The microcomputer supplies a transistor turn off signal to a switching circuit(203), and decides whether the volume control level value is more than a preset value(204). If so, the microcomputer supplies a transistor turn on signal to the switching circuit(206). The switching circuit turns on a switch to apply a fan driving power supplied to a fan driver(209). The fan driver operates a stopped fan(210).
