PURPOSE: A polyurethane adhesive excellent in heat resistance is provided. And also a process is provided to produce polyester metallic yarn by using the polyurethane adhesive. The polyester metallic yarn has excellent adhesive property and heat resistance in high temperature dyeing process. CONSTITUTION: The polyurethane adhesive comprises: a main adhesive component produced by reacting an isocyanate compound, a polyester polyol having a molecular weight of 400-4000, a polypropylene glycol having a molecular weight of 400-3000, and a chain extender and then diluting by an organic solvent to have 30-70% of nonvolatile components; a crosslinking component produced by reacting at least one alcohol selected from trimethylol propane, ethylene glycol, and 1,4-butanediol and an isocyanate compound in the molar ratio of 1:2-4 and then diluting by an organic solvent to have 50-80% of nonvolatile components. And the process for producing the polyester metallic yarn contains the step of uniting an aluminum-vacuum deposited polyester film with a polyester transparent base film by the polyurethane adhesive.
