HOME THEATER SYSTEM CAPABLE OF CONTROLLING INDOOR ILLUMINATION ACCORDING TO A BRIGHTNESS SIGNAL AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A home theater system capable of controlling indoor illumination according to a brightness signal and a method thereof are provided to automatically control brightness of indoor illumination according to the brightness signal of a reproduction image. CONSTITUTION: An image signal input unit(110) inputs an image signal reproduced and inputted from an external image player. A brightness signal dividing unit(106) divides a brightness signal from the image inputted from the image signal input unit. When setting an indoor illumination mode according to the brightness signal, a microcomputer(102) measures the intensity of the brightness signal divided from the brightness signal dividing unit and produces an indoor illumination brightness control signal corresponding to the intensity of the brightness signal. An illumination control unit(112) receives the indoor illumination brightness control signal applied from the microcomputer and controls brightness of an indoor illumination lamp connected to the home theater system.
