SYMBOL SYNCHRONIZATION DEVICE OF XDSL MODEM USING DMT METHOD, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT USING AN ECHO CANCELER OR A BAND PASS FILTER

PURPOSE: A symbol synchronization device of an xDSL modem using a DMT method is provided to reduce a fabrication period by using a simple digital circuit instead of an echo canceler or a band pass filter. CONSTITUTION: A symbol synchronization device of an xDSL modem using a DMT method includes a storage unit, a subtracter, and a symbol synchronization detection circuit. The storage unit(510) stores a received signal and outputs the stored signal after a period of one symbol. The subtracter(520) is used for subtracting the received signal from the output of the storage unit. The symbol synchronization detection circuit(530) is used for detecting a starting position of the received symbol from the output of the subtracter.
