PURPOSE: An Ethernet-based xDSL modem having a flow controller between modems is provided to configure a flow controller between modems, to enable a flow control function between the Ethernet-based xDSL modem and other Ethernet-based xDSL modem, thereby realizing end-to-end flow control between one Ethernet terminal and other Ethernet terminal. CONSTITUTION: Ethernet-based xDSL modems(120,130) comprise as follows. Transmitters(122,132) process transmission packets into transmission signals transmitted to other Ethernet-based xDSL modem through transmission media. Receivers(124,134) process receiving signals received from other Ethernet-based xDSL modem into receiving packets through the transmission media. Flow controllers(126,136) exchange flow control information between the Ethernet-based xDSL modems(120,130).
