METHOD FOR GENERATING PUBLIC LONG CODE MASK FOR TRAFFIC CHANNEL, WHICH DOES NOT COLLIDE WITH LONG CODE MASK FOR COMMON CHANNEL, IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for generating a public long code mask in a mobile communication system is provided to use values which do not collide with other channels while generating a public long code mask from a base station, thereby preventing the public long code mask from colliding with a long code mask for common channels. CONSTITUTION: A system receives a public long code mask type for the first one channel and the first number of bits through a message from a base station. The system sets the second number of bits having values which do not collide with other channels to the first lower bits of the public long code mask for the first channel according to the received public long code mask type. The system sets the first number of bits obtained by permutating an ESN(Electronic Serial Number) according to the public long code mask type or the first number of the bits received from the base station to the second lower bits which are lower than the first lower bits of the public long code mask for the first one channel.
