摘要 PURPOSE: A rapid call setup method in a wireless communication system is provided to reduce paging time by changing an SCI(Slot Cycle Index) value to a smaller value in a standby mode, and quickly resume a traffic channel in a dormant state. CONSTITUTION: When a service request is generated in a null state(300), a mobile terminal performs PPP connection with a base station and is transited to a control maintenance state to exchange a control message, and when setting of a dedicated traffic channel is completed, the mobile terminal is transited to an operation state(310) to exchange packet data with the base station(301). If packet data to be transmitted from a PTT server is not generated for a certain time in the operation state(310), the mobile terminal releases the PPP connection and the traffic channel(302). The mobile terminal is transited to a dormant state(321) in a standby mode(303). When the mobile terminal receives a paging message from the base station, the mobile terminal performs an operation for establishing a traffic channel(304). When a standby timer is time-out in the dormant state of the standby mode, the mobile terminal is transited to a dormant state(322) of a general mode(305). When the mobile terminal receives a paging message from the base station in the dormant state(321) of the general mode, it is transited to the operation state(310) to establish a traffic channel to receive the generated data, and thereafter, when the traffic data is completely transmitted, the mobile terminal is transited to the dormant state(322) of the general mode(306). When a PPP session timer is time-out in the dormant state of the general mode, the mobile terminal releases the PPP session and is transited to the null state(300)(307).
