INSTANT MESSAGING SERVICE METHOD USING SHORT MESSAGE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION PACKET NETWORK, PARTICULARLY FOR PROVIDING IDLE TERMINAL WITH INSTANT MESSAGING SERVICE BY USING SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE

PURPOSE: An instant messaging service method using a short message in a mobile communication packet network is provided to inform an idle terminal that an instant message is received, and to supply an instant messaging service to the terminal if the terminal registers in the service, thereby supplying the instant messaging service to all terminals in a wireless data network. CONSTITUTION: A system checks whether a user terminal wanting to transmit an instant message is connected to a mobile communication packet network(S201-S204). If the user terminal is in idle state without being connected to the mobile communication packet network, the system changes the instant message into a short message(S221,S222). The system transmits the short message to the user terminal, and informs the user terminal that the instant message is received(S223). If the user terminal is connected to the mobile communication packet network to execute a client, the system supplies an instant messaging service(S224-S238).
