PURPOSE: A VCM(Voice Coil Motor) actuator latch device of an optical disk reproduction device and an unlatch method using the VCM actuator latch device are provided to effectively realize latch and unlatch operations regardless of strength of a magnetic field generated by a voice coil of a VCM actuator without using a permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION: An actuator hook(112) is protruded from a VCM actuator(114). A supplementary latch(140) is adjacent to a main latch(130). Two connection links(150) connect the main latch(130) with the supplementary latch(140). A latch hook(132) is formed on the main latch(130) such that the VCM actuator(114) can lock a loading direction(115) moving in load state from a setting point, by operating with the actuator hook(112). A pressing projection(113) is protruded from the VCM actuator(114) to push the supplementary latch(140). A restoration unit returns an open position of the main latch(114) to a hooking position.
