摘要 PURPOSE: An antenna system and a method for controlling the same are provided to control the horizontal and vertical beams of an antenna radiation pattern without using an electrical phase control. CONSTITUTION: An antenna system comprises a plurality of antenna element columns(20) for generating antenna radiation patterns; a feeder line connected to the antenna element columns; one or more dielectrics superimposed on the feeder line; and a horizontal beam tilt driving unit for controlling the horizontal beam tilt of the antenna radiation pattern by varying the superimposed area of the dielectrics and the feeder line. The feeder line includes a connector side feeder line connected to a feeder line connector; and an antenna element side feeder line connected between the connector side feeder line and the antenna element columns. The dielectrics include a dielectric superimposed with the connector side feeder line; and a plurality of dielectrics superimposed with the antenna element side feeder line. The horizontal beam tilt driving unit includes a rack gear; and rotatable knobs(41,42) engaged with the rack gear so as to move the rack gear in a linear way.
