PURPOSE: A drum-type washing machine is provided to easily attach and detach a lifter in a rotary tub without separating a fixed tub and the rotary tub from a body by fastening or unfastening a fixing screw for fixing the lifter through an opening unit formed at the upside of the fixed tub. CONSTITUTION: A drum-type washing machine is composed of a body(10) of which the upside is opened; a fixed tub(11) installed in the body to contain water; a rotary tub(12) rotatively mounted in the fixed tub and formed with a plurality of through-holes(12a); a lifter(20) disposed on the inside of the rotary tub; a fixing screw(21) combined from the outside of the rotary tub to fix the lifter; an opening unit(23) formed at the upper part of the fixed tub to fasten or unfasten the fixed screw; and a cover member(24) for opening and closing the opening unit. The cover member with predetermined elasticity for closing the opening unit is inserted into the opening unit.
