PURPOSE: A user interface method in a portable communication terminal is provided to easily navigate menus or a wireless Internet using a mouse pointer, not the scroll buttons of the keypad of a portable communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A user interface consists of icons(20), a mouse pointer(10), direction buttons(40), and soft buttons(30). The icons(20) indicate frequently used functions, such as the SMS, an address book, the Internet, etc. The mouse pointer(10) is to indicate a desired icon(20). The direction buttons(40) are to move the mouse pointer up and down and right and left. The soft buttons(30) serve as the right and left buttons of the mouse at a point where the mouse pointer(10) indicates.
