PURPOSE: A collapsible lens and a method for collapsing the collapsible lens are provided to reduce the length of a collapsible lens when the collapsible lens is completely collapsed. CONSTITUTION: A collapsible lens has an object part and an upper part. The collapsible lens includes plural optical elements. The optical elements are placed along an optic axis(Z1). Each optical element includes at least one element which is movable to a dead zone out of the optic axis. The element is placed closer to the upper part when moving to the dead zone than when the collapsible lens is placed in a standby position.
