A mirror has a transparent substrate with three alternating layers (5-7) which have low and high refractive index layers (2, 3). The refractive index of the layer (4) is higher or lower than layers (2, 3), respectively. The mirror has a narrow color separating band between the transmission and reflection wavelength bands. An independent claim is also included for a projection type display unit. |
