PURPOSE: An electrochemical cell is provided, to improve capacity, high rate charge/discharge characteristic and cycle characteristic by reducing the resistance of the interface between an electrode active material and an electrolyte solution. CONSTITUTION: The electrochemical cell comprises a positive electrode containing a proton conductive compound as an electrode active material; a negative electrode containing a proton conductive compound as an electrode active material; and an aqueous electrolyte solution containing a proton source as an electrolyte, wherein the electrolyte solution contains 0.01-30 wt% of a polymer compound containing a main chain having an atom having an unpaired electron as an electron moving accelerator. Preferably the electron moving accelerator contains a main chain having an oxygen or nitrogen atom as an atom having an unpaired electron; and has an alkylene oxide frame in a repeating unit. Preferably the electron moving accelerator is polyethylene glycol, polyglycerin or polyethyleneimine. |
