PURPOSE: A power controller is provided to eliminate the necessity of using an expensive power line having a heat resistance, and protect vehicle loads from an over current. CONSTITUTION: A power controller comprises an overheat sensing unit(111) for sensing an overheat of a power line(120) applied from a vehicle battery(101) to a vehicle load(121); a voltage value detection unit(107) for detecting a voltage value(104) of a vehicle power; a voltage converting unit(113) for taking, as an input, the vehicle power, converting the vehicle power into an appropriate voltage, reflecting the voltage to a switching control signal(112), and outputting a signal; a switching unit(115) for controlling flow of the vehicle power applied to the load by performing on/off switching operation in accordance with the switching control signal; and a control unit(109) for taking, as an input, an overheat sensed signal from the overheat sensing unit, and voltage values from the voltage value detection unit, judging an abnormal current, outputting the switching control signal to the switching unit, analyzing changes of the detected voltage values, and outputting a switching control signal.
