PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator of a microwave band in which power loss is small and output is high. SOLUTION: In a voltage controlled oscillator, output from the drain terminal of a field effect transistor 4 is indirectly coupled by a directional coupler 5 and inputted to a coupler port microstrip line 7. By attaching a terminating resistor 6 to the isolation port of the directional coupler 5, impedance is matched. By coupling the drain output of the field effect transistor by the directional coupler 5 and feeding it back through the microstrip line 7 to a gate terminal, oscillation is generated.
