PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized coil having a high magnetic flux density. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a coil by winding the many turns of such a wire 2 as a straight-angle wire around an annular core 1 having a non-circle section, a roller 3 is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the one turn or plural continued turns of the wire wound around the core 1, while rotating the roller 3 in the rotating direction opposed to the winding direction of the wire. Thereafter, the operation for so separating once the roller 3 from the wire 2 as to shift it to the next turn of the wire 2 is repeated. As a result, the wire 2 is deformed along by the core 1.
