PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cathode-ray tube which does not complicate a manufacturing process, is excellent in heat absorption characteristics of a color selection electrode surface, and does not reduce luminance characteristics. SOLUTION: A composite vapor deposition material 17 is used in a step for forming a conductive reflection film 10 and a heat absorption film 11 on a fluorescent screen 3. The composite vapor deposition material 17 has a sheath material 17a becoming a composition material for the conductive reflection film 10; and one kind or more of core materials 17b, or metal particles applied to the sheath material 17a as a composition material for the heat absorption film 11, and having a boiling point higher than the sheath material 17a for vacuum vapor deposition. The composite vapor deposition material 17 is heated and vaporized to form the conductive reflection film 10 and the heat absorption film 11 on the fluorescent screen 3. Communication between the composite vapor deposition material 17 and the fluorescent screen 3 is closed off at least once in a duration from a time when the composite vapor deposition material 17 starts to melt by being heated to a time when a step for the composite vapor deposition material 17 heated and vaporized is complete.
