PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of a catalyst caused by nonuniform temperature, when fuel cut is performed in decelerating a vehicle. SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion ending having a fuel cut means for fuel cut in decelerating the vehicle, comprises; a temperature acquiring means acquiring a temperature TCA of the catalyst disposed to an exhaust passage; a first temperature comparison means comparing the acquired temperature of the catalyst with the first temperature TCH1; and a first air amount determination means reducing an intake air amount in a case where the temperature TCA of the catalyst is the first temperature TCH1 or higher, compared with a case where the temperature TCA is lower than the first temperature TCH1.
