PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating device for a compact internal combustion engine capable of improving fuel consumption and complication of machining. SOLUTION: In this lubricating device for the internal combustion engine 1 provided with an oil pump 42 for reducing rotation speed of a crank shaft 9 and driving it, speed reduction ratio is set in such a way that a scope of the number of revolutions of the oil pump 42 becomes 2/3 or less of the limit number of revolutions for generating cavitation in the oil pump 42. Discharge capacity of the oil pump 42 is set to satisfy predetermined oil amount required by the internal combustion engine 1 in the scope of the number of revolutions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
