PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition containing an artificial oxygen transporter, high in oxygen transport efficiency, and having necessary glue osmotic pressure, moderate crystalloid osmotic pressure, pH and electrolyte balance. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition is obtained by moderately incorporating at least one component selected from the group consisting of a compound capable of imparting glue osmotic pressure, an electrolyte, a carbohydrate, an amino acid, an antioxidant, a pH adjuster and a tonifying agent in a hemoglobin endoplasmic reticulum preparation with hemoglobin included in liposome or a composite preparation comprising porphyrin-iron complex and albumin.
