PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To full-automatically wind a film roll having no paper tube in a short time by feeding a core auxiliary sheet with a wrap film or the like to be regularly wound about 20 m. SOLUTION: When a film or the like is automatically rewound around a winding core 6' pressed against a circumferential surface of a winding drum 5 to a standard value, a traveling film S' protruded from a slender cut 7 having a cutting blade 20 in the winding drum 5 substantially over the entire width of a drum surface is cut at an intermediate position between a substantially full-wound winding core 6" pressed against a circumferential surface of the drum and a next winding core 6' when the drum is fully wound, the cut end portion is wound around the next winding core 6'. When the film is wound by about 1.5 turns around the next winding core 6' with the cut end portion wound therearound, an auxiliary core sheet P such as an auxiliary paper roll is fed and wound together with the film of the length of the 3-5 times the circumference of the winding core so that the auxiliary core sheet P such as the auxiliary roll paper overlaps the film S' at the proximal position of the next winding core.
