ALL-WHEEL DRIVE TYPE TOROIDAL TRANSMISSION FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an all-wheel drive type toroidal transmission for an automobile having a friction wheel type continuously variable transmission capable of managing with a small number of components smaller than that of a conventional all-wheel drive transmission. SOLUTION: The all-wheel drive type toroidal transmission for the automobile is configured so that two output discs 2 and 2' of its friction wheel type continuously variable transmission 1 are coupled to each other by a supporting bearing 11 without being coupled rigidly. The first output disc 2 is coupled with the front axle 7 while the second output disc 2' is coupled with the rear axle 6. Thereby torque and power to the front axle 7 and the rear axle 6 of the automobile are divided by the friction wheel type continuously variable transmission 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
