SHOCK ABSORBING STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing structure for a vehicle, which shock absorbing structure can show sufficient shock absorbing performance, and can be easily designed regardless of the size of an installation space. SOLUTION: The shock absorbing structure for the vehicle is arranged within any of installation spaces 40 having different sizes so as to form a gap 42 between the structure and an interior component 36 for the vehicle or a body composing component 38. A thin plate shape spacer rib 14 is integrally stood on a shock absorbing member 12 for absorbing the shock applied from outside. The spacer rib 14 is formed so as to have such a shape that the spacer rib 14 can be located between the facing portions of the interior component 36 for the vehicle and the body composing component 38 in the gap 42 formed when the shock absorbing member 12 has been arranged in the installation space 40, or can be located between the facing portions of the interior component 36 for the vehicle and the body composing component 38 while the end face 32 of the side edge portion of the spacer rib 14 is brought into contact with or is faced to the interior component 36 for the vehicle and the body composing component 38.
