PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric windshield wiper device and a frame for the electric windshield wiper capable of not only preventing a collision energy absorbing quantity of the vehicle from decreasing at an emergency time, but also securing strength of an entire device at a normal time in use, and improving a collision energy absorbing characteristic of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This electric wiper device 10 is floating-supported by a vehicle in a frame integral constitution, and buckling parts 47, 49 are provided to a hollow frame 42. When a load of not less than a predetermined value acts on a wiper motor 58, the buckling parts 47, 49 are buckled and deformed in a load direction. Therefore, support and fixing of the wiper motor 58 is released, and flange parts 29, 33 of pivot holders 12, 14 are pulled to the wiper motor 58 side, and inclined and displaced, so that fixing holes 28, 30 are detached from mounting bolts.
