PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for enclosed welding with which the improvement of welding work efficiency and the reduction of consumable cost can be attained, and the butt weld zones of two deformed reinforcing rods can securely be gas-shielded. SOLUTION: A backing strip 10 consists of a plurality of backing strip constituents (11A, 11B, 11C) made respectively independently replaceable and removable, and whose fitting positions are exchangeable. An inert gas feeding means 40 is composed of: a first inert gas feeding part 41 for generating an inert gas flow for forming a first gas curtain C1 in the vicinity of the opening part 23 of a shielding cover 20; and a second inert gas feeding part 51 for generating an inert gas flow for forming a second gas curtain C2 at a part separated from the butt end parts (A1, B1) of both deformed reinforcing rods (A, B) by a prescribed distance.
