The invention provides a spacer (20) for positioning between adjacent vertebrae (V1, V2), comprising: a body having an anterior portion (26) and an opposite posterior portion (28) disposed along a longitudinal axis (L1), a top surface (22) extending along said longitudinal axis (L1) for placement against a vertebra (V1) and an opposing bottom surface (24) extending along said longitudinal axis (L1) for placement against a vertebra (V2), the body further having a medial side (30) and a lateral side (36) and a width extending between said medial side (30) and said lateral side (36); said anterior portion (26) having a first width (W1) and the posterior portion (W2) having a second width, wherein the first width (W1) is greater than the second width (W2). |
