PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an adjusting method for power consumption of a capacitive load and an adjusting circuit for the power consumption of the capacitive load.

SOLUTION: During a power feed part is turned off, a current path bridging a load input side is opened. During the power feed part is turned on, a smoothing capacitor through a converter is charged till voltage of the smoothing capacitor of load reaches the prescribed maximum value.
