PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multi-channel optical communication module which does not require man-hour for complicated optical alignment and is easy to assemble. SOLUTION: In the space which is provided on the top surface of a base plate 1 and surrounded with a U-shaped package side wall 2 and a member 4 with a U groove, an optical assembly 3 is arranged. The optical assembly 3 has an optical fiber 31, an optical semiconductor element 32, and a lens 33, and the optical fiber 3 is run through the U groove 41 formed on the top surface of the member 4 with the U groove. A fiber pressure member 5 is bonded to the member 4 with the U groove and then the optical fiber 31 in the U groove 41 is sandwiched between the U groove 41 and fiber pressure member 5 and airtightly sealed with an adhesive.
