PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of winding wrinkles to perform consistent winding, and to prevent a magnetic tape 10 from being distorted in a winding device to wind the magnetic tape 10 around a winding roll while pressing the magnetic tape by touch rolls. SOLUTION: A winding device comprises a winding roll 13 to wind the magnetic tape 10 carried via a predetermined treatment step, a plurality of touch rolls 15a and 15b which are rotated and brought into contact with an outermost circumferential surface of the magnetic tape 10 wound around the roll 13 at a predetermined pressure, and a controller C. The torque of the winding roll 13 is controlled based on the output (tension signal) of a dancer position detector 22 to detect the position of a dancer roll 12 to provide the tension to the magnetic tape 10, the rotational speed and/or the torque of the touch rolls 15a and 15b is controlled based on the preset tension, and the touch pressure of the touch rolls 15a and 15b is controlled based on the preset tension.
