Air heater for transport vehicles with device for flame monitoring by measuring temperature gradient across burner

The heater (10) with burner (20) has a fan (16) delivering air from an inlet (24) through a heat exchanger (22) to an outlet (26). A control unit (18) located after the fan has a sensor (28) to measure the temperature of its printed circuit card. At the outlet end an air temperature sensor (30) is located, the sensor readings provide the temperature gradient across the heat exchanger so indicating whether the burner is operating or not.
