<p>A two rung ladder (2, 3), with treads (4), attached to a sliding mainframe (1), which slides within sliding channels (19) of a mountable carriage. When withdrawn, a self-lifting bar (8) is activated by contact with stop bar (21), which raises telescopic tubes (9, 10), pivoted at swivel plates (14), to the position shown. Inner tubes (10) can be raised within outer tubes (9) and locked in position by locking pin (18) in locking location slot (12), so as to provide safety handles. The ladder assembly is locked into position by swivel action lock, (23, 24, & 25), which locates in locking device slot (16) provided in standing platform (15) attached to mainframe (1). By releasing the swivel action lock (23, 24 & 25), the ladder assembly can be easily stowed by sliding back into the sliding channels (19), the handles (27) being protected by protection plates (5) when stowed away.</p> |
