PURPOSE: Provided are a method for purifying oleamide from jujube and the use thereof for ChAT-activating composition. The oleamide as a ChAT activator has prevention and treatment effects on age-associated memory impairment and senile dementia. CONSTITUTION: The method for purifying oleamide from jujube comprises the steps of: extracting jujube with methanol, followed by distillation under reduced pressure; adding chloroform to the methanol extract powder to fraction a water layer and a chloroform layer; subjecting the chloroform layer to open silicagel column chromatography with the mixed solvent of chloroform and methanol in a mixing ratio of 90:10 to give a third fraction; subjecting the chloroform layer to open silicagel column chromatography with the mixed solvent of chloroform and methanol in a mixing ratio of 80:20 to give a first fraction; subjecting the mixture of the first and second fractions to open silicagel column chromatography with the mixed solvent of chloroform and methanol in a mixing ratio of 90:10 to give a third fraction; and performing TLC with the third fraction and measuring the ChAT activity of each band and recovering a band having highest ChAT activity.
