<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having the same capacity as a DVD-ROM and capable of obtaining satisfactory focusing characteristics even at a recording speed higher than quad-speed, suppressing intra-surface fluctuation of modulation degrees and performing recording of high reliability, to provide its manufacturing method and to provide a recording and reproducing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium having a substrate and a recording layer and a reflection layer formed on the substrate, the substrate has a set central value of its thickness, acceleration in an axis direction of the optical recording medium has the maximum permissible value when the thickness of the substrate is in a fixed range from the set central value and the maximum permissible value of the acceleration in the axis direction of the optical recording medium is made smaller as a deviation amount from the set central value exceeds the fixed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
