<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel highly safe apoptosis inducer derived from beans and to provide food and beverage and drugs containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The apoptosis inducer comprises an active principle of an extract from beans, especially, their seed coats. It is preferable that the extraction solvent used for the extract is ethanol/water of an ethanol concentration of 20 to 85%(w/w). The apostosis inducer comprises a component derived from beans.
