PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and reliable optical demultiplexer/multiplexer that is easy to manufacture and can eliminate the adjustment of the two lenses by adopting an optical system that can maintain a small multiplexing loss even when arranging the two lenses on the same axis. SOLUTION: This optical demultiplexer/multiplexer 20 has a two-core optical fiber collimator 22 and a single core optical fiber collimator 21, and a filter chip 25 is fixed onto one end surface 24a of the rod lens 24 of the collimator 22. The angleθ2 of the end surface 24a is set so that the light entering the common port 37 and passing the filter chip 25 is emitted at the position of the optical axis C in parallel with it to the optical fiber 25 which extends from the rod lens 23 to the transmission port 39. By this setup, the light passing through and the light reflecting on the filter chip 25 can obtain the maximum coupling with the optical fibers 26, 29 while maintaining the rod lenses 23, 24 on the same axis.
