PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump device enabling the suppression of pressure rise in the defrosting operation of the heat pump device and a reduction in defrosting time. SOLUTION: In this heat pump device, a compressor, a radiator, a first decompression device, and an evaporator are circularly connected to each other through refrigerant pipes. A second decompressing device (capillary tube) and an open/close valve (two-way valve) capable of electrically opening/closing a refrigerant passage are disposed, parallel with each other, on the low pressure side between the evaporator outlet and the compressor. The device also comprises a defrosting control means for the evaporator. In defrosting operation, the defrosting control means increases the valve opening of the first decompression device more than that in normal operation and the open/close valve is closed to flow refrigerant to the second decompression device (capillary tube).
