PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a mobile terminal to properly apply remote control to an equipment installed on the outside of a mobile body. SOLUTION: In an equipment control system, a user uses the mobile terminal 10 mounted on the mobile body 1 to transmit a command signal to the equipment 20 for remotely controlling the equipment. Whether or not the mobile body 1 is located within a permissible distance from the equipment 20 is judged on the basis of a position of the mobile body 1 measured by a position measurement means 16. When it is discriminated that the mobile body 1 is located within the permissible distance, the remote control of the equipment 20 is permitted, and when it is judged that the mobile body 1 is not located within the permissible distance, the remote control of the device 20 is inhibited. Thus, the position of the mobile body 1 capable of applying remote control to the device 20 is limited. Consequently, the remote control unintended by the user can be prevented.
