PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator capable of enhancing rigidity and, at the same time, facilitating the manufacture and the maintenance. SOLUTION: The seismic isolator 10 includes a flange body 14 installed in a foundation body 26, a flange body 12 installed in a structural body 24 and a laminated body 16 lying between these flange bodies 12 and 14. The seismic isolator 10 is equipped with a plurality of laminated bodies 16 formed by alternately laminating and fixing viscoelastic body 32 and a reinforcing plate 34, and arranged in the laminated direction of the plurality of these laminated bodies 16. These laminated bodies 16 are arranged in the shape of a simple lattice. These laminated bodies 16 can be arranged in the shape of a minute structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
