PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a liquid injection head which minimizes harmful effects due to a swollen piece, and to provide a liquid injection head manufactured by the same. SOLUTION: A large-thickness first plate material 16 and a small-thickness second plate material 17 of a laminated member 9 of the liquid injection head with liquid storage chambers, pressure generation chambers and nozzle openings are united by a joining layer 18. A punch 20 with a straight part 20A and a tapered part 20A is pressed into the first plate material 16, thereby forming a bulged part 23 at a rear face of the laminated member 9. Then, the bulged part 23 is cut to open a supply port 8. A ratio of an annular volume V2 of a part added to a space volume V1 by a tapered hole 8A with respect to the space volume V1 obtained by a sectional area of a straight hole 8B and a thickness size of the laminated member 9 is not smaller than 1. Moreover, a ratio of the thickness of the second plate material with respect to the thickness of the first plate material is not larger than 0.25.
