PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping device which can be attached easily to a slider and can be slid smoothly in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: The capping device comprises a cap 12 covering a head plane 41, a cap holder 30 having a part for attaching the cap 12 and a stopping part 32 on the lower surface thereof, a spring 60 disposed at a lower part and resiliently urging the cap holder 30 upward, and a box type slider 70 having a pair of cap holder holding bars 73 touching the upper surface at the stopping part 32 of the cap holder 30. The cap holder 30 is inserted obliquely into the slider 70 from above through an insertion opening 75, an opening 74 and a stop part insertion slit 76 formed in the cap holder holding bar 73 and supported while being urged upward by means of the spring 60 and the upper side of the cap holder 30 is regulated by means of the cap holder holding bars 73.
