A steering lock device, comprising a lock device automatically locking a steering shaft when an ignition switch key is extracted in an extractable state, wherein an ignition switch key mechanism part and the lock device are formed separately from each other, and the lock device is installed at any position of a steering wheel output shaft extending from a steering wheel to a steering gear part. Thus, a space around knees can be increased while sufficiently securing a collapse stroke, and excellent steerability can be maintained by preventing the resonance of the steering wheel resulting from the lowering of the natural frequency of a steering column while reducing the weight of the device.
