<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of performing excellent recording and reproduction with a laser beam of a wavelength of 300 to 900 nm, and a chalcone compound. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium contains one or more types of chalcone compounds in at least one recording layer. The use of the chalcone compounds in the recording layer enables providing the optical recording medium capable of recording and reproducing, using a laser beam of a wavelength of 300 to 900 nm which attracts attention very much as a highly dense optical recording medium, specially a blue violet laser beam of a wavelength of 400 to 410 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
