摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce optical loss and to make cavity occupancy smaller. <P>SOLUTION: V-grooves 14<SB>1</SB>and 14<SB>2</SB>which are parallel to each other and have the same depth are formed in one half part on one surface 11a of a substrate 11 and optical fibers 21 and 22 are disposed in the V-grooves 14<SB>1</SB>and 14<SB>2</SB>and their axial centers are positioned at a height H1 in relation to the surface 11a. The respective ends of the optical fibers 21 and 22 are integrally formed with lens sections 21a and 22a of the same diameter and the respective end surfaces of the lens sections 21a and 22a are inclined with respect to the axial centers by an angleα'. A beam splitter 31 is attached to the substrate 11 on a central line 25 between the optical fibers 21 and 22 and the light emitted from the lens section 21a is propagated through the space and is condensed to and made incident on the beam splitter 31. The reflected light of part thereof is propagated through the space and is condensed to and made incident on the lens section 22a. The transmitted light of the beam splitter 31 is made incident on a photodetector 32 and the propagated light of the optical fiber 22 is monitored by the output thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
