PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate retainer structure for a door, which is for use in fixing and fitting a plate such as a glass plate into a fitting such as a door, excellent in workability, allows firm fixture of the plate, and does not incur drastic increase in cost. SOLUTION: The plate retainer structure is for use in fixing the glass plate 20 in an opening formed in a door main body 10, by pinching the same with a slender first retainer member 30 and a second retainer member 40 on both sides of a peripheral portion of the glass plate. The second retainer member 40 has a retaining portion 42 and an engaging portion 44 which are engaged with engaging portions 34, 34 of the first retainer member 30 from inside the opening in a direction in parallel with the glass plate 20. In this case, the door main body 10 is pinched by an extended portion 32 of the first plate retainer member 30 and an extended portion 43 of the second plate retainer member 40, which enables fixture of both the plate retainer members 30, 40 to a butt end 12 of the door main body.
