PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sinking machine for immediately performing sinking work even when becoming a state of gathering water in a shaft by a rainfall and flowing water. SOLUTION: This shaft sinking machine is characterized by having a body part 1 having a plurality of jacking jacks 3 and grippers 4 inside a skin plate 2, a boring advancing part 10 for sliding in the body part 1 by operation of the jacking jacks 3 by installing a cutter head 20 via an annular bearing 13 and a partition wall 14 under the skin plate 12 internally attached with a cutting prime mover 11, a center post 30 fixed to the center of the partition wall 14 by projecting an upper end part in an upper outer part of the body part 1, and suspending a lower end part in a chamber 25 of the boring advancing part 10, an endless bucket conveyor 40 arranged in the center post 30, and a sand pump 45 suspended along the inside of a conveyor frame 41 in the bucket conveyor 40, and having a suction port 45a positioned in the lower end part of the center post 30.
