PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rationally designed door stop with a new locking function. SOLUTION: Characteristically, two pushing operations of a hook 17 after insertion into a catcher 5 are set as one cycle; the first pushing operation makes a pinion 12 slightly turned so as to be put in an angle position shown in the figure; a notch 13 of the pinion makes an entry into a moving locus of a locking corner part 19 of the hook; the corner part 19, which is pushed by a control plate 15 so as to recede, is meshed with the pinion 12 so that the hook 17 can be locked to the catcher 5; the second pushing operation of the hook makes the hook 17 released from the pinion 12, and makes the pinion 12 further slightly turned; and the second retreat of the hook makes the pinion 12 put in the angle position, which does not interfere with the hook 17, via the corner part 19.
