PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer purification method capable of efficiently removing metallic components from a polymer solution containing the metallic components. SOLUTION: A polymer solution of which the temperature is 40-200°C and of which the partial pressure of dissolved hydrogen at that temperature is 0.1-10 MPa is brought into contact with an adsorbent, yielding a polymer containing a catalyst-derived metal in a content of 50 ppb or lower. Purification by this method remarkably decreases the metal content in a polymer having a polar structure or an aromatic ring structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
