PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element using a suitable compound as an organic light-emitting material exhibiting especially red colored light at a most suitable wavelength, with a high luminance and being stable, the same compound, a synthetic intermediate of the same and a method for producing them. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element installed with the organic layer having a light-emitting zone between a cathode and an anode is provided with that at least a part of the organic layer contains 1 kind of an aminostyrylnaphthalene compound expressed by general formula [I], [II] or [III] (R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>11</SP>, R<SP>12</SP>, R<SP>23</SP>and R<SP>24</SP>are each phenyl or naphthyl; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>13</SP>, R<SP>14</SP>, R<SP>25</SP>and R<SP>26</SP>are each an electron-withdrawing group such as cyano or the like; and R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>15</SP>and R<SP>27</SP>are each a substituent such as an alkyl). The compound is produced by a condensation reaction of 4-(N,N'-diarylamino)benzaldehyde with a Wittig Horner reagent, e.g 1,5-dicyanonaphthalene-2-phosphonic acid alkyl ester.
